Das Brunner-Syndrom ist eine x-chromosomal rezessive Erkrankung, die durch Mutationen der MAOA-Gens hervorgerufen wird. Klinisch ist sie charakterisiert durch impulsive Aggressivität und eine leichte mentale Retardierung.
