Das Autoimmun-Polyendocrinopathie-Syndrom 2 ist eine autosomal dominante Erkrankung die mit dem HLA-Lokus assoziiert ist. Der genaue zugrunde liegende Gendefekt konnte bisher noch nicht aufgedeckt werden. Der Typ 2 ist durch eine Nebenniereninsuffizienz und zusätzlich eine Autoimmun-Thyreoiditis oder ein Typ 1 Diabetes mellitus charakterisiert.
Die Häufigkeit der Erkrankung wird mit 1,4-4,5 je 100.000 angegeben.[Error: Macro 'ref' doesn't exist]
