Cherubismus ist eine autosomal dominant oder rezessive Erkrankung des Kindesalters und der Adoleszens die durch Mutationen im SH3BP2-Gen hervorgerufen wird. Sie ist charakterisiert durch eine autoinflammatorisch bedingte symmetrische Vergrößerung von Unter- und Oberkiefer, die sich in der Regel bis zum 30. Lebensjahr wieder zurück bilden.
